The Department of Nigerian Legislature was created in 2019 following the elevation of the former National Secretariat of Nigerian Legislature (NSNL) to a Directorate. Together with the Department of International Parliamentary Organization and the Department of Protocol, they constitute the Directorate of Inter-Parliamentary Relations and Protocol.

This desk coordinates and archives the activities of the conference and the Forum. It is also responsible for the organization of the meetings of the bodies.

This desk coordinates parliamentary exchange programmes and parliamentary study visits and tours to the National Assembly.

This desk is saddled with the task of designing conferences for Staff and members of the State Houses of Assembly as a platform to engage, learn and develop. These conferences may be solely organized by the National Assembly or done in collaboration with third-party bodies.

This desk is saddled with the task of designing workshops and seminars for Staff and members of the State Houses of Assembly to achieve more targeted focus on mutual areas of interest arising from the conferences of the preceding desk. These seminars may be organized solely by the National Assembly or in collaboration with third-party bodies.
